The 2016 permablitz season is about to begin.
On Sunday May 1 we’ll gather in a front yard in the Meadowgreen neighbourhood to dig swales for water catchment, prepare planting beds for herbs, flowers, vegetables, berry bushes and native seeds, and retrofit some rain barrels.
If you would like to volunteer or would like more information please email: email@example.com.
Permablitzes are a great way to learn about permaculture design in a hands on way. No experience necessary. There’s a variety of jobs to do whatever you experience or physical ability.

Eat, Write and Be Merry
Wednesday March 16
6:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre – upstairs
202 Avenue C South
Have you been meaning to write your City Councillor about an issue close to your heart but keep putting it off or don’t know quite how to get started? Well procrastinate no more. We’ve come up with a few templates for letters close to our hearts which you can use to get yourself started. The topics we’ve chosen are rainwater management in the city, active transportation in the city and a long-time favourite back yard chickens in the city.
So bring a food dish to share for the potluck and a pen and paper or your laptop to write with. If you are not sure who the councillor is for your ward, we can show you where to look that up, as well as where you can submit an email to him or her online.
We will meet upstairs at the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre.
Doors open at 6:00 pm.
We’ll eat around 6:30.
We’ll clean-up and should be ready to start letter writing by 7:30.
We will go through a few tips for letter writing, do an overview of the letters, and then set right down and write a letter or two.
While we have come up with three issues that we think are important, feel free to come with other ideas.

Date: Sunday February 7, 2015
Place: Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre – 202 Avenue C South, Saskatoon
Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
This Introduction to Permaculture Workshop is a great place to both start and deepen your knowledge of permaculture.
The day will begin at 9:00 AM and go until about 5:00 PM, with a few breaks during the day, including lunch (which is not included but there are plenty of places to go nearby and there is a small kitchen in the training facility).
As part of the training, you will have an opportunity to do some design on your own yard, so bring along rough measurements and an idea of your sun exposure and yard slope. If you do not have a yard, or like your yard as it is, you’ll be able to join up with someone else to help them with a design.
Cost is $70 for Permaculture Saskatchewan members/$80 for non-members.
