We are heading to Beaver Creek!
Important Update: If you are planning to attend please arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 pm. That is when the gate will be open. We have to close the gate at 6:30 pm. If you arrive after that you can leave your car at the gate and walk in to the site. Also, please bring your own cup, plate and cutlery.
Normally our monthly meeting is the third Thursday of the month, but due to calendar weirdness, the third Thursday is only the 15th of the month, so we pushed it back a week.
Put on your walking shoes for our May potluck and meeting and meet us out at Beaver Creek where we’ll learn and talk about native plants.
What can you plant in your permaculture design that will support native pollinator species, fix nitrogen perennially, or provide you with food and medicine? Join Elizabeth Bekolay and Joanne Blythe at the Beaver Creek Conservation Area for Permasask’s monthly meeting to hike and philosophize out on the prairie and through the valley. The hike will be followed by a potluck on the deck, or inside if it’s raining. The hike will happen rain or shine. We will have a few snacks on hand if you are hungry before the hike.
Arrival time is 6:00 pm. We will begin the walk about 6:30, share a potluck after the hike and continue our conversations and discussions.
Hope to you there. Everyone welcome.
If you need a ride, can offer a ride or want to carpool please send an email to info@permasask.ca.
Location: Beaver Creek Conservation Area is located approximately 13 km south of Saskatoon. Starting at Lorne Avenue, take Highway #219 south of Saskatoon. After about 12 km you will see a sign Beaver Creek East, do not turn here, continue past this sign about 1 km to a sign on the right reading “Beaver Creek Conservation Area.” Turn right (west) and follow the winding road to the parking lot.
