Permaculture Saskatchewan looking for volunteers: a person to help with volunteer coordination, and one or more persons to help coordinate permablitzes.
The volunteer coordinator is a volunteer position, with an approximate commitment of 5 hours a week from April – September. This position will help catalogue the interests of the Permaculture Saskatchewan members in order to strategically provide volunteer opportunities both on permablitz days and throughout the year. The inventory would include skills, learning interests and ways members would like to be involved. The volunteer coordinator would help link people according to their interests to Guild members who can train/orient/work with them.
The permablitz coordinator is a person who would help organize one or more permablitzes during the year. The time requirements will vary and will be busiest as we near a permablitz date. The person will work with the design team for the permablitz to get things ready for the day it happens.
Who is the Permablitz Guild of Permaculture Saskatchewan?
The Permablitz Guild is the organizing committee for permablitzes, through Permaculture Saskatchewan. A permablitz is an organized gathering of community members with the intention of transforming space (usually an urban backyard) into a productive ecosystem through permaculture design. The host and permaculture designer plan the design in advance and on the permablitz day everyone pitches in to help make this vision a reality. Many hands make light work!
